I think this is a great project. It would be wonderful to encourage children to understand the ways in which the project benefit the community through projects in school. There is an Italian approach to early years called Reggio Emilia which puts the community at the centre of children’s learning. It’s a great way of getting children to explore their local area and learn about how they are an important part of it.
